Friday, February 11th, 2022 -- 9:01 AM

(Bob Hague, WRN) Super Bowl weekend is a big one for gamblers, including those with a problem.

Rose Blozinski is Executive Director with the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling. “It’s probably the biggest event of the year. There are millions and millions and millions of dollars that are spent, on betting on the Super Bowl.”

The American Gambling Association projects more than thirty-one-million of us will pony up some seven and a-half billion on the Rams– Bengals matchup. Blozinksi says some will be trying to make good on losses. “If you’ve been betting all season, and all of a sudden you’re losing, this is going to be the make it or break it.”

Blozinski is Executive Director with the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling. “Call our helpline at 1-800-426-2535. When somebody calls that we can talk them through any crisis that they’re having. We can give them resources in their communities. Gamblers Anonymous meetings, treatment providers.”

Blozinski says some problem gamblers will be hoping to make up for losses by betting on the Super Bowl. https://wi-problemgamblers.org/
