Stratford Teen Points Gun at Marshfield Teens

Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 -- 4:00 PM

On February 7th, at 9:49pm Marshfield Police responded to a call in the 800 block of E. Harrison St. referencing a 19-year-old Stratford male who was pointing a handgun at two people inside of a residence, threatening to kill them.

The male suspect fled the residence prior to police arrival. Marshfield Police received additional information that the suspect went to a residence in the 1300 block of N. Peach Av. (a short distance away) and again pointed the handgun at a female at this address. The suspect again fled prior to police arrival. Area police continued to search for the suspect throughout the night and the following morning.

On February 8th, at approximately 8:54am, Marshfield Police were informed the suspect may be in route to Marshfield and a vehicle description was provided. At 8:59am Marshfield Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled over in the 1900 block of N. Peach Av.

Officers communicated with the suspect for approximately 20 minutes but he would not comply and surrender. The suspect started driving away and officers attempted a pursuit intervention technique.

The suspect ultimately crashed into a parked Marshfield Police squad and was then taken into custody. All the involved parties were acquainted with each other and these were not random acts.

Numerous charges will be forwarded to both the Wood County and Marathon County District Attorney’s Offices.
