RUDY CASE MOVING FORWARD

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 -- 10:54 AM

Shaun Rudy was back in a Clark County courtroom Wednesday morning. Rudy is facing two counts of 1st-degree intentional homicide for the November 12th shooting death of his wife, Christine, and her unborn child. He is also charged with mutilating a corpse.

The 23-year-old Thorp man has been without a lawyer since Public Defender William Poss was allowed to withdraw from the case last week due to ?ethical? and ?professional? considerations.

Wednesday, the court officially learned the Wisconsin Public Defender?s office has appointed Wisconsin Rapids-based attorney David Grace to represent Rudy.

Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsell scheduled an initial appearance on the homicide charges for next Thursday at 3 p.m. The court date will also serve as a status conference on unrelated firearm and drug paraphernalia charges.
