Marathon County Health Officials Not Taking Up Vaccine/Mask Mandates
Tuesday, January 11th, 2022 -- 11:01 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) Marathon County Health Officer Laura Scudiere says the county Board of Health will not be taking up vaccine or mask mandates for schools.
“We have not discussed vaccine or mask mandates, or mandates of any kind. And really I don’t have the authority to do anything of that nature.” Scudiare says rumors that the board would be discussing mandates today originated on social media. “Remember that not everything we read on Facebook is true,” she said.
Scudiere continued, “It’s my understanding, from my discussions with various school superintendents that they really know the requirements and are doing what they can to mitigate.”
Scudiare’s recommendation is for everyone is to get vaccinated and wear a mask when appropriate as the omicron variant continues to drive up COVID-19 case counts.
