Member of Wisconsin Elections Commission Says He's Not Resigning

Monday, December 13th, 2021 -- 11:00 AM

(Bob Hague, WRN) There are calls for he and other commissioners to resign, but Wisconsin Elections Commission member Mark Thompsen says that’s not going to happen.

“There’s a small group of Republicans that are willing to make outrageous claims, just to get us to resign, just to get Meagan Wolfe to resign, so that they control the infrastructure of the 2022 elections.”

“There are some Republicans that are willing to put their fellow Republicans in prison for allowing old people to vote. This is in my mind wake up time for my fellow citizens.”

Republican Representative Joe Sanfelippo has introduced a resolution calling on five of the six elections commissioners to resign, along with chief elections officer Meagan Wolfe.

The resolution also refers to potential charges against the commissioners over voting procedures in nursing homes during the 2020 election. On WISN’s UpFront Sunday, Thompsen said he doesn’t expect to be charged, although he believes the Racine County District Attorney is being pressured to do so.
