(Bob Hague, WRN) There’s a new effort to boost Wisconsin‘s agricultural exports.

It’s an issue Democratic Governor Tony Evers and the Republican-controlled legislature agree on, and on Friday Evers signed a bill aimed at increasing Wisconsin’s ag exports.

The state Agriculture Department and Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation are now tasked with a developing a plan to increase the value of those by 25 percent by 2026.

Despite the importance of the industry here, the bill’s authors note Wisconsin ranks 17th in the nation in total agricultural exports, trailing several other Midwestern states.
