Black River Falls Municipal Utilities Warn of Phone Scam

Black River Falls Municipal Utilities has been made aware of a phone scam which threatens immediate disconnection due to past-due balances.

This is a scam. BRFMU will never ask customers to make an immediate payment over the phone or via a text message to avoid disconnection. Those whom receive the call should not provide any personal or banking information.

BRFMU has a process in place to notify customers of past-due charges. They mail letters to residents, landlords, and business owners with the past-due amounts and the steps they can take to avoid an interruption of their utility services.
