Wisconsin Farmers Can Start Signing Up for Farm Support Grants Today

Monday, November 8th, 2021 -- 10:00 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin farmers who grow or raise various agricultural products are now able to login in and sign-up for the latest round of Wisconsin Farm Support grants.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, eligible producers were sent a letter last week with a special identification code and instructions on how to fill out the request on the Wisconsin Department of Revenue's website.

Gov. Tony Evers' office says the grant program will distribute $50 million to eligible producers by the end of the year, but they must first apply for the assistance either online or by phone starting at 8:00 a.m. on November 8th.

Producers who have a gross income of at least $10,000 and no more than $5 million annually are considered eligible for the program. The purpose of the aid payments is to help Wisconsin farmers who have experienced economic loss due to the pandemic, regardless of the type of commodities they grow or raise.

Farmers who did not receive a letter and believe they qualify for the program should call 608-266-2772. There is also a hotline for Spanish- and Hmong-speaking producers at 608-266-2772. The deadline to apply for the Wisconsin Farm Support Program is November 29.
