Illinois Man Arrested for 8th OWI in Wisconsin Rapids

An Illinois man was arrested in Wisconsin Rapids after being found passed out at a gas station.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the Portage County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a man passed out in a vehicle at a gas station. The vehicle left the gas station before authorities arrived.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department then received a report of the same vehicle swerving down the road. The Department was able to locate the vehicle. 50-year-old William Ernest of Bolingbrook, Illinois was arrested for his 8th OWI.
