Granton School Board Approves New Accounts

The Granton School Board approved a few new accounts.

The Board approved the School Store Activity Account, the Haunted Forest Activity Account, and the Animal Lab Activity Accounts. They also had a discussion on options regarding repair of the school tower, but no action was taken.

The Board also approved proceeding with Phase II of the MSA Professional Services Agreement for parking lot improvement, not to exceed $30,300. The Board also approved recommended COVID-19 protocol changes regarding quarantine procedures.

The Staff of the Month is the custodial staff including Robby Roehl, Tim Steinbach, Steve Rowe, and Kimberly Ganther. They were recognized for all their hard work maintaining and getting the school ready for the new school year.

Granton’s new School Store was the Spotlight on Education this month. Principal Amanda Kraus presented a short PowerPoint. The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place at the old Granton Village Library on Saturday during Granton Fall Fest.

The Board also heard from the Student Council Representative. Lizzie Reinart, Student Council Representative, reported on Ag Olympics and activities at Granton Fall Fest. Granton Board President Theresa Hasz reported that she attended an online WASB workshop.

Ms. Kraus updated the board on 4K-12 Opening week Assembly and staff introductions to the student body was a big hit, Staff Professional Development Day is Friday, September 17th, and the PAWS group’s community leaf raking plans.

Superintendent James Kuchta provided a Strategic Plan update including a focus on the Quality Education Task Force, the Granton Community Child Care Center August Report, current enrollment of the school is at 235 in grades 4K through 12, congratulations to the Granton School Board for being selected as Granton Citizens of the Year, staff news included a wedding proposal at a staff meeting-Congratulations Mr. Marquez & Ms. Lopez, and Board Retreat options were discussed.
