NEW POSTAGE CAUSES STAMP SHORTAGE

The postal rate increase has caused a run on one- and two-cent stamps. Post offices in north central Wisconsin ran out of one- and two-cent stamps yesterday. Wausau post office supervisor Tammi Sanchez says demand for the stamps was much more than they expected. Post offices in Schofield, Stevens Point, Merrill and Mosinee also ran out of the stamps. Sanchez says last Thursday alone, they sold 20-thousand two-cent stamps. Her post office expects a new shipment sometime this week. The post office has plenty of 39-cent stamps. The Postal Service is expected to raise rates again next year to cover increased costs. The Neillsville Post Office still has plenty two-centers.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
