During the regular School Board Meeting, they also approved updates to the handbooks and approved a donation of 5 mats from Zion Lutheran Church. In employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Leah Janicki from her teaching assistant position, Jammie Westbay from her teaching assistant position, Rebecca Oldham from her teaching assistant position, and Jena Ehlen from her assistant basketball coaching position.

The Board also approved the retirement of Nancy Hagedorn from her teaching assistant position. The Board approved the hiring of Paige Schmidtke for a teaching assistant position, Amber Kallian for a teaching assistant position, and Melody Clemens as a summer custodian. The Board also approved the updated librarian contract for Melissa Strangfeld and the bonus for Krista Rueth in the amount of $300.

The Board also heard an update on the facilities and grounds projects. Currently, the Middle School roof replacement is ongoing as is work with the dust collector and booth replacement in the shop. Mr. Gaier also provided a list of projects the district would like to complete over the next 3 years.

District Administrator John Gaier also reported on a thank you card, a COVID-19 information packet for parents, the Clark County and District's COVID dashboards, guidelines for contact tracing and quarantine, an article regarding the Wisconsin Supreme Court's ruling on a mask mandate case, a letter on the resignation of the Tomahawk School District's superintendent, an article about the resignation of Oconomowoc School District board members, and the AEF's quarterly newsletter.

During the Annual Meeting, the Board approved the salaries for the Board, which will remain the same, and authorized reimbursement for per diem and expenses. The per diem for Board Members is $100.

The salaries are $2,500 for the Board President, $2,300 for the Board Clerk, and $2,100 for the Vice President, Treasurer and Member. The Board also approved the sale of unused or out-dated supplies and equipment, approved temporary borrowing for cash flow (which the District hasn’t had to do), and set the date for next year’s Annual Meeting.

The Board also approved the tax levy of $4,074,212, which is an increase over last year’s $3,741,475. However, as Mr. Gaier mentioned, those numbers aren’t final until the final numbers are provided by the state for state aid.
