Neillsville School Board Approves Several Items in Preparation for the Next School Year

The Neillsville School Board approved several items in preparation for the upcoming school year at their meeting.

The Board approved the 2021-2022 school year guidelines as presented and approved the September 2021 operational plan as presented.  Lance Gregorich from CESA 10, along with Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer, provided an update on prioritizing building repairs and upgrades.

The Board also approved the Emergency Response Plan as presented, approved the annual meeting agenda, and approved the 2020-21 Seclusion and Restraint Report as presented.

The Board also approved the annual safety drill report as presented, approved the shared space agreement with Clark County Community Services as presented, and approved the shared space agreement with Children’s Wisconsin as presented.

The Board also approved several handbooks including for staff, Middle School Athletic Handbook (with changes), Athletic Handbook for Coaches and Parents (with changes), and the Federal Programs Handbook.

The Board also approved the bus routes for the 2021-2022 school year and approved transportation charges for 2021-2022 as presented.  The Board also approved two out-of-state Field Trips for the FFA including to Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 26th-30th and to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in January 2022.

The Board also approved the release of funds in the amount of $962.50 to the Class of 2021, approved the Adam and Mindy Kren Capstone Project for 2021-2022 as presented, and approved yearbook prices for the 2021-2022 school year as presented.

The Board also approved the meal and milk prices for the 2021-2022 school year as presented, approved the offer vs. serve food service contract for the 2021-2022 school year as presented, approve the Wisconsin morning milk program for the 2021-22 school year as presented, and approved the federal milk program for the 2021-22 school year as presented.

In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Molly Dolle from her teaching assistant position, Sharilyn Ziegler from her summer custodial position, and Duane King from his assistant track coach position.  The Board also approved the leave of absence for Kate Mueller.

The Board approved the hiring of Tina Glassbrenner as a teaching assistant, Megan Hanson as a 1st grade teacher, Tammy Loberg as a 2nd grade teacher, Connie McDonald as an elementary art teacher, and Nate McDonald for the assistant football coaching position.  Finally, the Board approved the bonus for Wendi King in the amount of $300.

The Board also approved the initial adoption of changes to Policy GDIEA and Policy JN.  Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on thank you notes, a Neillsville Improvement Corporation agenda, a Wisconsin Public Education Network event, and state aid distribution.
