Unemployment Rates Up Statewide

The Department of Workforce Development on Wednesday released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities and counties in Wisconsin for June 2021.

Preliminary June 2021 unemployment rates increased in all of Wisconsin's 34 largest cities over the month.

Preliminary June 2021 unemployment rates declined or stayed the same in just two of 72 counties over the month.   In our area;  Clark County’s unemployment rate went from 3.0 in May to 3.4 in June,  in Jackson County the unemployment rate went from 5.1 in May to 5.5 in June.  Wood County’s went from 4.5 to 5.0, Marathon County’s from 3.1 to 3.5 and Taylor County’s unemployment rate went from 2.8 in May to 3.1 in June.
