Fairchild Police Department Hears Concerns Over Placement of Two Convicted Sex Offenders

Friday, October 30th, 2020 -- 12:23 PM

-The Fairchild Police Department held a meeting about two convicted sex offenders that are set to be placed in the Fairchild community.

Earlier this month, the Fairchild Police Department was notified two convicted sex offenders, Jeffrey Bonnin and Richard Strand, were set to be placed in the village. Community members were able to voice their concerns and hear more about the placement at the meeting on Thursday. In Wisconsin, sex offenders who are court ordered for supervised release must live in a community in their county of residence.

Both men will be GPS monitored, have announced and unannounced visits to their home to check in on them, and for the first year of living in the village cannot leave the home without supervision. If either violates one of the rules set in place, they could be sent back to a treatment facility.
