Black River Memorial Hospital Departments Recognized with Excellence in Healthcare Award

-Black River Memorial Hospital medical/surgical and obstetrics departments have been recognized with an Excellence in Healthcare Award for their ability to deliver positive outcomes relating to the patient experience.They received the Excellence in HCAHPS Overall Rating & Care Transitions award from Huron’s Studer Business for ranking at or above the 90th percentile in patient satisfaction. The recognition was a result of surveys taken by patients after staying at the hospital, as required by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. They are asked questions about their experience, including how satisfied they were with their care and whether they would recommend the hospital to others.
Other areas of the survey cover how well doctors and nurses communicated with each other and with the patient. The Excellence in Healthcare Awards are presented annually to a select group of partner organizations by Huron’s.
