Neillsville School Board Discusses Employment Matters

-The Neillsville School Board approved some employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the resignation of Kari Begert from her food service position, Stina Jansen from her teaching assistant position and Jennifer Roenz from her confidential administrative assistant position. The board also approved the hiring of Morgan Spencer for the confidential administrative assistant position, Brianna Waters for a food service worker position and Bryce DeSmet for an assistant boys' basketball coaching position. The board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Kelsey Klein and the Memorandum of Understanding for Todd Schmidt as presented. Finally, the board approved the initial adoption of Policy IGDG. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on attendance, remote learners, students in quarantine, remote learning platforms, art, music, phy.ed, and guidance class update, FastBridge testing, Schools Cubed and Halloween. Middle School Principal Kory Poeschel reported on attendance, remote learners, office changes and virtual parent/teacher conferences.

She also reported on student council dress-up days, emergency shut down plans, lockdown drill, FastBridge assessment, picture day, flu shots for students and DPI Leading for Learning professional development. High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, remote learners, cohort groups, homecoming week and picture day. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on a letter from Marshfield Clinic Health System, the latest Social Media Review, a nation wide class-action lawsuit involving special education students, the 2021 WASB Convention, 2019-2020 state budget reductions, an article regarding school voucher expansion, a message from AEF, a bullying table, school board recognition week and a potential high school entrance design.
