Greenwood School Board Holds Special Meeting in Regards to Updated Spectators Procedures for Sporting Events

Friday, September 25th, 2020 -- 10:09 AM

-The Greenwood School Board held a special meeting and approved updated spectators procedures.

For volleyball matches in the west gym, there will be 4 tickets per player & coach per game & 2 tickets per player for visitors. The gym will be cleared after each match and up to 20 student tickets for the Varsity match will be distributed through a lottery system. All spectators MUST wear masks. For football, there will be 4 tickets per player & coach per game & 4 tickets per player for visitors. Only students in grades 9-12 will be allowed to attend without a parent. The student section will be in the east end zone. All Spectators MUST wear masks.

Before the board approved those items, they heard some comments from the community. The comments focused on who could use the tickets. Also, would the board consider changing tickets from “adult” to “family member” so parents could use tickets for children? There was also concern about community members who have supported Greenwood Athletics for decades and whether they can get tickets.
