Three Students at Marshfield School District Test Positive for Coronavirus

Monday, September 21st, 2020 -- 2:29 PM

-The Marshfield School District stated that 3 students have tested positive for COVID-19.

There is one case each at Grant Elementary, Marshfield Middle School, and Marshfield High School. The district says they were notified of the positive cases by the Wood County Health Department. The schools are working on contact tracing, and quarantining one classroom from Grant Elementary. Those students and staff will participate in remote learning for two weeks. The district’s email says it anticipates needing to quarantine close contacts of the middle and high school cases.

School districts around the state are seeing increased cases of the coronavirus in students and staff as they struggle to stay open during the pandemic. The Neillsville School District recently had two cases of the virus. The Abbotsford High School is going virtual again today and tomorrow due to a backlog at the Marathon County Health Department as they work on contact tracing. There were reports of other positive cases at some Clark County schools.
