Greenwood School Board Accepts CTE Incentive Grant

Friday, September 18th, 2020 -- 9:07 AM

-The Greenwood School Board accepted a grant at their meeting on Monday.

The board accepted the CTE Incentive Grant in the amount of $20,087.52. During the communication from the public, the board received a letter from a parent supporting the continued wearing of masks. Another parent spoke about the mask requirement and feels parents should have more say if their child must wear one. District Administrator Todd Felhofer provided an overview of why the wearing of masks or face coverings is important and how they allow the district to run 5-days/week and in-person versus a cohort model in-school for 2 days and out virtually for 3 like many area schools are doing or going 100% virtual.

The face coverings mitigate and contain potential exposures and will likely limit the length and frequency of students and staff being out or our schools being closed. Another asked how are the students doing at the start of school? Principal Joe Green shared that the start to the school year has been great. Students are excited to be back in school, learning and seeing their friends. Our staff has also done a great job preparing for the return of our students. Finally, the board heard a CESA 10 report from another board member.
