Greenwood School Board Hears Update on Start of the School Year

Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 -- 9:08 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard an update on the start of school at their meeting on Monday.

The district’s administrators shared information regarding the start of school. The board received the annual report on Summer School attendance. This year they only had 3 full time equivalent students compared to last year’s 16 full time equivalent students. This change is related to the limited time available for summer school this year. The board also received an update on the virtual learning options. Nine students at the elementary school and 10 students at the middle/high school are working virtually. The district also has 3 seniors at CVTC in the HSED program.

The board also reaffirmed that building use requests will be evaluated on a monthly basis. Focus will continue to be on those events which support students and children. The board also provided updates for Policies 5000s-9000s and a review for the 1st reading next month. The board also approved the 2nd reading of Policy 2266 New Title IX Regulations and approved the mask or face covering language to be added to the Student and Staff Handbooks.
