Neillsville City Council Hears Committee Reports

-The Neillsville City Council heard the various committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday.

Mayor Diane Murphy reported on the August 25th meeting of the Personnel Committee regarding a closed session on non union employee wages. Council Member Julie Counsell reported on the September 3rd meeting of the Library Board. At the meeting, Graeme Williams was elected as President, they made appointments to committees to fill spots left by resignations and had a discussion and authorization to create a sliding scale for the position of Assistant Librarian with a sliding scale of $10 to $12 per hour based on experience and education. Mayor Murphy also reported on the September 3rd meeting of the Planning Commission. They had a discussion on the Beautification Committee’s recommendation to name the new park at 1710 Black River Road “Prock Park” and approved the recommendation to name the new park “Prock Park”.

They also had a discussion on the Beautification Committee’s recommendation to install a decorated metal arch with the words Prock Park on top. Action on the arch was tabled. There was also discussion on moving the Neillsville Dog Park into Listeman Park plus guidelines and other concerns. Action on the location change was tabled. Finally, Council Member Dan Clough reported on the September 8th meeting of the Commission on Public Works/Utilities regarding current activities, a presentation by Angel Gebeau of AECOM regarding the sewer rate study and the recommendation to proceed with the process for a 7% sewer rate increase.
