Marshfield School Board Hears Update on Start of School

Thursday, September 10th, 2020 -- 9:25 AM

(WDLB) -Marshfield had a very successful start to reopening schools last week.

That's what members of the Board of Education were told during their monthly meeting last night. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson said families and staff members have adjusted well to the many new experiences they face under restrictions implemented under the COVID-19 pandemic. Christianson also noted that, starting this week, the district is now offering free breakfast and lunch to all students through December 23. Christianson also noted the free meals are available to virtual students as well, and those orders can be placed through the district website at marshfieldschools.nutrislice.com.

Additional questions can be directed to the district's Food Service Office. Christianson made no mention of an email sent to parents earlier this week, informing them of the district's first COVID-19 case, detected in a student who attended classes at Marshfield High School on September 1. Those attending school in-person are doing so in four groups of students going to classes on a rotating basis. The infected student is in Group A, which was back at school on Tuesday, but won't return until Monday.
