Area FFA Students Named National Proficiency Award Finalists

(WDLB) -Four area FFA members have been named as National Proficiency Award Finalists.The National FFA Organization has announced that 10 Wisconsin students will compete at this year's national convention, being held virtually in October. From our area, those members include Cortney Zimmerman of Spencer in Beef Production, Stratford’s Tristan Wirkus in the area of service learning, Ty Gardner of Pittsville for fruit production, and Owen-Withee’s Matt Fischer for Dairy Production.
Eight other Wisconsin students had their award applications rated as gold, with 12 placing at the silver level and six rated bronze. The organization also announced that nine high school programs from the Badger State will be honored during the convention as Three-Star Rated Chapters, including the Granton FFA.
