Even With Wisconsin State Fair Canceled, People Can Still Donate to Hunger Task Force

Thursday, August 27th, 2020 -- 9:46 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Each year at the Wisconsin State Fair, attendees are encouraged to bring food and monetary donations to benefit the Hunger Task Force.

And according to officials with the organization, the support will carry on this year, as well. For the next two weeks, the public can score tickets to the 2021 State Fair with a donation to support Hunger Task Force's Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program through September 4. "Hunger Task Force is thrilled for the opportunity to continue one of Milwaukee's favorite summer traditions with the Wisconsin State Fair while helping support the Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program," said Hunger Task Force Director Sherrie Tussler. "With the community's support, we can continue giving back to dairy farmers and hungry families statewide."

The Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program is a joint effort between Hunger Task Force, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture to help provide relief to hungry families statewide by connecting milk and dairy products to emergency food organizations throughout the state. To date, the effort has distributed over 1.1 million gallons of milk, 378,000 pounds of cheese and 77,500 pounds of yogurt for hungry families throughout Wisconsin.
