Clark County Tourism Committee Discusses Events During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Thursday, August 20th, 2020 -- 10:01 AM

-The Clark County Tourism Committee discussed the state of the county at their meeting on Wednesday.

The group discussed some events that are still occurring in the county even with the coronavirus pandemic including the Spring Into the Arts Tour, which was postponed to September 21st and 22nd. The county’s Fall Harvest Moon Tour is still happening in the months of September and October. Also on September 19th, during the Harvest Moon Tour and Spring Into the Arts Tour, the CART Center is hosting Shawn Ganther’s Unmasked and Lionhearted exhibit and film. The group also discussed the effect of the coronavirus on community events, businesses and volunteer organizations. They also discussed Clark County's quality of life as a draw for tourism.

The group also heard an update from the Clark County Chapter of the Friends of the Black River. They will be holding their fall clean up next Saturday in the Neillsville area. They were hoping to expand further into the Greenwood and Withee area, but the coronavirus has caused that initiative to be pushed back. It was also stated that because of the virus, the river has seen more usage, but that has also led to more trash being left in the river and the river banks.
