La crosse Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Jackson County

-A La Crosse man was sentenced for a high speed chase that occured in Jackson County back in February.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy stopped to check on a vehicle that was pulled over on Highway 54 in Melrose. A passenger jumped out of the car and the driver fled, reaching speeds of 100mph during the chase. Spike strips were deployed to stop the driver, Chue Xiong, and he was arrested.
Xiong pleaded guilty to vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by 18 months extended supervision.
