Neillsville City Council Approves New Public Works Director

-The Neillsville City Council approved the hiring of the city’s new Public Works Director at their meeting on Monday.

The council accepted the recommendation to hire Luke Friemoth for the Director of Public Works position at $55,000 per year, starting September 1st with a 90 day review period and job shadowing of Director of Public Works Flynn for the month of August. Also, the City Clerk stated at the July 28th meeting, the council extended the public health leave to city employees and a raise to poll workers during COVID-19. Back on April 14th, the council authorized that the Clerk-Treasurer office personnel receive a $2.00 per hour hazardous pay increase. The council voted to extend the Clerk-Treasurer’s office personnel $2.00 per hour hazardous pay increase from April 1st of this year until January 21st of next year.

Finally, the City Clerk stated that the Beautification Committee has collected $3,020 in donations from area businesses and individuals for hanging flower baskets/decorations. The council approved accepting the donations and thanked the businesses and individuals for help in beautifying the city.
