(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin's agriculture secretary says applications have been coming in at a steady pace for the second round of the Wisconsin Farm Support Program.During Tuesday's episode of the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin Dairy Signal, Randy Romanski told an online audience that 3,152 applications have been submitted to the Department of Revenue website as of August 18. Unlike the first program in June, farmers whose gross income ranged between $10,000 to $5 million during the 2019 tax year are eligible to apply.
Agricultural producers of any kind may sign-up for the program, as long as they have not received funding during the first round. The DOR is taking online applications through August 24 in an effort to disburse the remaining $8.4 million still available to struggling farmers from the federal CARES Act.
