Reopening Plans and More at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board reviewed their reopening plans at their meeting on Monday.

The plan is nearly ready to be sent to families. The board also received the annual report on Seclusion and Restraint for 2019-20, with no use reported. The board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding with Clark County for Mental Health Counseling Services for 2020-2021. The board also received an update on the status of summer projects, reaffirmed that building use requests will be evaluated on a monthly basis and discussed working with the Marshfield Medical Center on earning the Triple C Certification for our schools. The board also approved the 2020-2021 Preliminary Budget with the amount coming to $6,216,783.27. The board also approved the 2020-2021 Service Contract with ADS and tabled a discussion regarding the request from the Greenwood Softball Association to donate to the replacement of the fence at the softball field to the Special Meeting scheduled on Monday, August 24th at 6:00 pm.

The board also approved the policy updates in 3000’s-4000’s in policy update 29-1 and conducted a first reading of the Policy 2266 New Title IX Regulations. In employment matters, the board approved the hiring of up to two Long-term Substitute Teachers for the 2020-2021 school year, they accepted the resignation of 7-12 Science Teacher Taylor Kent, approved the employment of Joel Harbury as the new 7-12 Science Teacher and approved Debra Mayenschein as a Part-time Food Service worker.
