Coronavirus Numbers for August 8th

-Taking a look at the updated coronavirus numbers from yesterday:The state has 974,948 negative cases, 58,768 positive cases (an increase of 989 over yesterday) and 990 deaths, an increase of 12 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 4,930, or 8%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 187 positive cases and 3,682 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 223 positive and 10,250 negative, Eau Claire has 563 positive and 14,218 negative and Jackson has 55 positive and 5,307 negative.
Also, Wood has 276 positive and 9,372 negative, Marathon has 623 positive and 13,196 negative and Taylor has 64 positive and 1,821 negative. Clark County has had 7 people die from the virus. Marathon has had 9 people die from the virus. Eau Claire has had 4 people die from the virus. Jackson, Wood and Taylor have had one person die from the virus.
