Tuesday, August 4th, 2020 -- 10:15 AM

-A Black River Falls man was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday for hitting a Jackson County Sheriff’s Department squad car.

Back in January, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department had conducted a traffic stop on the 115 eastbound ramp of I-91 in the Township of Adams and their squad car was hit by a passing car. The driver sped away from the scene. The department arrested Brockton Garvin for the incident. Brockton said he knew that he almost struck the deputy, but didn’t realize he hit the car.

Garvin pleaded guilty to OWI, 2nd offense. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, his license was revoked for 18 months and he must have an ignition interlock device for 18 months.
