Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Committee Reports at their meeting last week.

The council heard the Historic Preservation Commission Report from July 15th. They had a discussion on funding; had a discussion on and approval of the Commission’s Action Plan; they received a “Certificate of Appropriations” form for minor exterior replacement at 218 Clay Street; had a discussion on reporting requirements; had a discussion on updating historic property listing; had a discussion on a request for expense reimbursement; and had a discussion on the updated city website adding the commission application forms, communicating with historic property owners and Wisconsin Historical Society available information. The council also heard the Library Board Report from their meeting on July 21st. They heard the Librarians’ reports; they had a discussion on and approval of Reopening Protocol Phase 2; they held the election of officers; and they had a discussion on, and appointment of, committee members. The council also heard the Commission on Economic Development Report from July 23rd. This was the meeting that approved the final COVID-19 Small Business Grants.

The council also heard the Planning Commission Report from July 23rd. This was the meeting that approved the council items regarding the land parcels, the Prock Park design and to accept the design. The council heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city. They also accepted the AECOM Technical Services Report and approved a couple council items. A resident also thanked a council member for asking questions on studies and contracts; asked if there are any grant for rural communities and if anyone has checked for them; at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday a band was playing and people enjoy the accordion and organ music; and an outdoor fundraiser was held at the Fairgrounds for the Clark County Mounted Search Team and K-9 Officer. Finally, the mayor extended condolences to St. Mary’s Catholic Church members on the sudden death of Father Varkey Joseph on July 21st.
