Cadott Woman Charged with Making False Threats Appears in Eau Claire County Court

-A Cadott woman charged after an incident involving the Stanley-Boyd School District and the Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Monday.Back in February, the Stanley-Boyd School District was on a soft hold because of threats regarding the Bolton Refuge House. According to the Eau Claire Police Department, Brittany Frane said she, and her family, were getting threatening messages from her ex-boyfriend. She showed officers the message. However, while investigating, it was determined that Frane was sending the messages to herself and her family through an app that distorts the original message.
Frane has been charged with terrorist threats create risk of causing result, identity theft, three charges of telephone harassment and obstructing an officer. During her arraignment on Monday, Frane entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her. She’s scheduled to be back in court on August 19th.
