Marshfield's Maple Fall Fest Cancelled

(Hub City Times) -Marshfield’s annual Maple Fall Fest, scheduled for Sept. 19-20 at Wildwood Park in Marshfield, has been cancelled.“After consulting with many partners, including vendors, potential attendees, the City of Marshfield, and Wood County Health Department, we believe that this is the best decision for the safety of our vendors, attendees, and overall community,” a Visit Marshfield release said. “With all the uncertainty and the specific timelines of festival planning, vital operational partnerships, and volunteer services, we needed to make this announcement now.” The event typically features over 150 vendors featuring handmade arts and crafts, maple syrup, food, entertainment, and other offerings. “Annual festival attendance is estimated at 10,000 to 15,000 people over two days,” the release added. “With the unique nature of vendors travelling to Marshfield from over six states, selling craft and food items in such close quarters makes social distancing nearly impossible, as is following the guidelines and recommendations as outlined by the Wood County Health Department.
“To help support our vendors and small businesses through this cancellation, we will now shift to a online campaign, showcasing our valued vendors and the unique handmade arts and crafts they traditionally sell at the festival. We are proud to show off vendors’ excellent wares in our online campaign in a safer manner starting in September 2020.
