Granton Village Board Update

Sunday, July 12th, 2020 -- 8:26 AM

The Granton Village Board heard the Board President’s Report at their meeting on Wednesday.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the president stated the American Flags at the C store look great and the village may look into continuing this throughout the town. The board heard the library report. The library is open for limited numbers and this has not been an issue. The board also heard the Water Report. Chlorine and Bacti samples were taken timely. They also read meters for quarterly billing and delivered disconnection notices as needed. They worked on the monthly DNR Report, worked with Suda Plumbing to review school water usage. No leaks were detected. They also had a burial, mowed, hauled brush, trimmed trees and more. The board also heard the Waste Water Report. They also purchased and installed the Neo 300 Chemical pump. Also, the sludge sample in pond 3 indicates there is only 3-4 inches of sludge. The park work included: installing bases in the ball field, liming, working with CRM to repair walk in cooler, painting grills, unplugging the sewer line, cleaning up after park picnic, digging out tree stumps, and working with electrician on trenching.

Also, the village will try to dig up the sewer line to locate where the clog keeps occurring and gravel for HomeRun Road will be purchased from Laddick. They were the cheapest at $12.95 per yard for red granite. They also changed the toilet ring in the apartment upstairs to fix a water leak, ordered LED lights for the shop, sprayed weed killer in the park and on roads and changed the oil/fuel filter in the backhoe. Finally, there heard the Clerk’s Report. The Primary is scheduled for August 11th. The clerk has sent out 19 absentee ballots so far, with 5 In person. The following election trainings were also completed including Navigate WisVote, Multi Factor Authentication, WisVote Login, Client Access License and WisVote 101.
