Rotary Club of Black River Falls Holds Passing of the Torch Ceremony

-The Rotary Club of Black River Falls celebrated the end of the Rotary year with the Passing of the Torch Ceremony at City Hall Monday, June 22.

Current club president Brad Chown handed over the reins to the president-elect, Carol Martin. Chown expressed his thanks to the club and shared some of the highlights during his term which included providing volunteers each month at the Food Pantry, helping the Karner Blue Garden Club with mulching, sending a student abroad through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and holding a very successful Rotathon Fundraiser. Incoming President, Carol Martin, has been an active club member, helping with events and community projects. Martin said, “I am very honored to take on the role of Rotary President. Rotary has a footprint of volunteering across the globe and one of my goals is to grow our volunteer footprint in Black River Falls.

Also, I look forward to working with our high school Rotary Interact Club. ” During the ceremony, Mary Beth White-Jacobs was honored for her service for many years as the club treasurer. Not only has Mary Beth served as a club officer, but she also continues to be involved in the annual Rotathon fund-raiser as co-chairman, volunteers at the food pantry, and other club activities. The club thanked Brad for his year of service and welcomed Carol who will lead the club into the future.
