State Fair Cream Puffs May Come To A Store Near You

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -One of the most popular attractions of the Wisconsin State Fair will not go down without a fight.This week, the Wisconsin State Fair Park and Wisconsin Bakers Association announced that the legendary Cream Puffs will be available on the fairground, along with other select locations throughout the state, during August 6-16 (which is when the fair was originally slated to be held). "At the core of our State Fair mission, we are built upon celebrating everything Wisconsin is so proud to showcase," said WSFP CEO Kathleen O'Leary. "While we can't gather this year for the 169th Wisconsin State Fair due to the safety issues surrounding COVID-19, we want to safely offer select fair staples, otherwise known as the State Fair Necessities. We will kick off the State Fair Necessities with the iconic signature food of the Wisconsin State Fair, the Original Cream Puff, as we just couldn't imagine a year without them."
Besides the park in West Allis, the treats will be available curbside at select Sentry Foods, Festival Foods and other venues. During the 2019 Wisconsin State Fair, over 400,000 cream puffs were sold during the event's 11 day run.
