Department of Workforce Development Releases Unemployment Numbers for May

-The Department of Workforce Development released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities and counties in Wisconsin for May 2020.For May, Clark County had an unemployment rate of 7.2%, a decrease from 9.4% for April, but well above the rate of 2.9% for May of 2019. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa is at 10.3% and Eau Claire is at 10.8%.
Finally, Jackson is at 15.4%, Wood is at 12.1%, Marathon is at 9.1% and Taylor is at 7%.
