Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 -- 9:21 AM

-The Greenwood City Council approved putting out a request for sealed bids for a storage building at George Scherer Park.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:30pm on July 14th and will be opened on July 15th at 6:00pm at the council meeting. The person that is awarded the bid will have 30 days from the award date to remove the building. The council also approved a pay request to LB&R Construction for $29,217.50. They also approved the Museum pay request to LB&R Construction for $35,802.44. The council also approved the payment of vouchers and the Treasurer’s Report. The council donated $4,000 to the replacement of the fence at George Scherer Park and approved all the operators/cigarettes licenses.

Finally, the council approved to sell parcel 231.0526.000 to Matt Brux for $3,000 deferred for 10 years. The property owner would be given 3 years from the purchase date to completely construct a building of no less than 30’ x 30’. This contingency does not expire. If the property is sold before the 10 years, the property owner will owe $3,000 to the city for the lot. If the building is not put up within the 3 years the property will revert back to the city and the owner will not owe anything. After 10 years the property owner will own the lot free and clear.
