Loyal School Board Hears Update from Strategic Planning Committee

-The Loyal School Board heard an update from the Strategic Planning Committee at their meeting on Wednesday.Last month’s Student Success minutes were approved outlining suggestions for improvements. Also, prior to the board meeting the Recruit and Retain committee held a virtual meeting. After pointing out some commonalities about the Salary Point System sheets that faculty members have submitted, attention was directed to the composite summary of the recent survey results. By comparing last year’s survey to this one, most areas saw improvement. The biggest gains showed up questions about a positive work environment and having an effective mentoring program.
Work still needs to be done in staff awareness of the mentoring program and the overall Point System effectiveness. One suggestion was to give greater credibility to teachers completing a series of webinars focused on specific topics within their teaching area. Staff should be encouraged by colleagues and admin to present class projects and/or ideas at board meetings.
