COVID-19 Afternoon Update
June 16th

We have a COVID-19 update for you this afternoon.

Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 414,330 negative tests, 23,198 positive cases (an increase of 266 over yesterday) and 703 deaths, an increase of 9 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 3,096, or 13%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 52 positive cases and 1,669 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 63 positive and 3,850 negative, Eau Claire has 138 positive and 6,508 negative, Jackson has 21 positive and 1,801 negative, Wood has 23 positive and 3,294 negative, Marathon has 83 positive and 4,922 negative and Taylor has 5 positive cases and 770 negative. Clark County has had 4 people die from the coronavirus. Marathon, Jackson and Wood Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus.

Just a reminder, an individual with a confirmed case of the coronavirus was at the La Tropicana grocery store in Abbotsford June 12th-14th. If you were in the store during that time, the Clark County Health Department asks you to self quarantine and monitor yourself for symptoms of the coronavirus. If you believe you have the virus, contact your healthcare provider.
