Greenwood School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

Sunday, June 14th, 2020 -- 5:38 AM

The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer provided a legislative update. He said the state budget seems likely to be a very difficult one. A funding freeze at minimum seems possible. Letters were sent to Representative James and Senator Bernier sharing how Greenwood has persevered through the closure. He also stated weekly Zoom meetings have been held with WASDA and with Cloverbelt Superintendents to discuss the latest in Legal, Health, and Re-opening issues. He also mentioned custodial and office staff are now working their usual summer hours.

Summer district office hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday. The Waiver of Hours of Instruction and Educator Effectiveness were submitted and approved. Also, the Senior Awards Event was presented as a Zoom meeting and it went well. Their students received over $660,000 in scholarships and grants. Finally, preparations for 2020-21 are underway. Several options will be developed and vetted by the Clark County Health Department.
