Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 347,210 negative tests, 21,308 positive cases (an increase of 270 over yesterday) and 661 deaths, an increase of 15 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 2,904, or 14%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 45 positive cases and 1,518 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 59 positive and 3,417 negative, Eau Claire has 124 positive and 6,051 negative, Jackson has 19 positive and 1,556 negative, Wood has 12 positive and 2,705 negative, Marathon has 66 positive and 4,164 negative and Taylor has 2 positive cases and 599 negative. Even with everything going on, the State Department of Health and Human Services wants to remind you that the coronavirus is still here and still highly contagious. No matter what you’re doing, they ask you to wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands and try to keep six feet between you and others.
