Marshfield to Still Have Fireworks for 4th of July, But Things Will Be a Little Different

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020 -- 9:34 AM

(WDLB) -Marshfield's annual recognition of our country's independence will go on, but with a few changes.

The Common Council voted unanimously last night in favor of allowing the annual fireworks display originating from the fairgrounds, but there will be no crowds in the grandstands, no food stands or kids' activities such as bounce houses. The Council rejected a recommendation to keep the restrooms closed to the public because of social-distancing concerns raised by the coronavirus pandemic.

Alderman Ken Bargender said the use of restrooms would have to be allowed in order for him to support the event. Festival Foods sponsors the annual fireworks displays in a number of Wisconsin communities, including Marshfield.
