(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin's interim agriculture secretary says details are still being worked out on how the state plans to distribute the $50 million set aside for producers under the Wisconsin Farm Support Fund. But those interested in applying for the assistance can now sign-up for email updates to keep them informed on the program. Randy Romanski announced that the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture has a new section on its website for potential applicants to subscribe for updates on the WFSF, as well as the $15 million Food Security Initiative. Last week, Romanski and Gov. Evers announced that there will be a small window of opportunity for farm owners to apply for the assistance; and that the criteria for distribution will not be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
DATCP and DOR are working out the rules of eligibility for the assistance program and will announce details within the coming week. Farmers interested in signing up for the email updates can go to: https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/News_Media/COVID19Relief.aspx
