Friday, May 22nd, 2020 -- 11:27 AM

-The Loyal School Board took care of organizational matters at their meeting on Wednesday.

The board officers include Jennifer Kadolph as president, Cara Prior as vice-president, Tom Odeen as clerk and Carrie Becker as treasurer. The CESA 10 rep is Jen Kadolph and Board members volunteered for 2-3 positions on the district’s 8 committees. Citizen State Bank remains their official depository and the TRG is the official newspaper. Kurt Strang is the district lawyer when needed and the default meeting date is the 3rd Wednesday of each month with starting time at 7:00pm. Also, the board will request a DPI waiver of State Statues for both the Hours of Instruction and Educator Effectiveness requirements due to the COVID-19 closure. Prior to the school board meeting, the Student Success Strategic Planning Committee met. The board and administration reviewed accomplishments and ideas for future endeavors to this 5-year plan.

The 2nd reading of the Virtual Board meeting policy was approved and Kayla Harder’s resignation was approved. They wish Kayla well. Also, Wanda Boldon has decided to retire. Her 23 years of dedication to Loyal’s students and 34 years of devotion to education will be felt by all. They thank Wanda for the difference she made. The board also approved using a Consent Agenda to consolidate several routine actions at meetings beginning in June and the pandemic situation caused the district to make amendments to the regular Greenwood Bus Service Contract.
