Central Wisconsin State Fair Still Scheduled

(Hub City Times) -Central Wisconsin State Fair Executive Director Dale Christiansen said that the fair is still on schedule for its 118th run in August.“While we are all facing many uncertainties, our team is optimistic and continuing to prepare and plan. The safety and well-being of our guests, participants, partners, and community come first, so we are closely following the directives of local and national health agencies,” said Christiansen. “We will make an informed decision about whether or not to hold the fair as scheduled, based on what’s in the best interest of the public health, on or before July 7th. Christiansen said that the fairgrounds are currently being used in a less-than-typical way during the COVID outbreak.
“As champions of positive change and a better tomorrow, we are dedicated to using our Fair facilities and resources to support and serve those who are affected by COVID-19. Currently, Ruby‘s Pantry is utilizing our Junior Fair building and grounds to help families in need with food and household supplies. We are also working with the Wood County Health Department with the use of our facilities for any of their future needs. We will continue to work closely with these groups to better our community for a healthier future.” At this time, the fair is on schedule to run Aug. 25-30.
