-The Neillsville City Council discussed part-time employees at their meeting on Tuesday. The council accepted the recommendation to place all the other part-time employee applicants in a pool for Cemetery, Parks, Public Works and Recreation Departments to draw from as needed. Also, Chief of Police Jim Mankowski stated that while he was doing the liquor/beer license renewal checks, he was asked about extending their service area because of the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. City Clerk Rex Roehl stated that the Class B Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage holders have two options after talking with the Chief of Police regarding their plans.
They can amend their 2020-2021 license application to add the extended service area without an additional cost OR if they wait until after the council grants their 2020-2021 license at the June 9th meeting, the city permit for an extension of the service area costs $10.00. There was a discussion on the length of time. A renewal license is for one year; the city permit has to have specific beginning and ending dates.
