Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

-The Granton Village Board heard a library update at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the Library Director requested to change library hours as follows Monday 9-12, Tuesday 1-7, Wed 8-12 and Fri 1-4. The board approved the change. The board also heard the Water Report. Chlorine and Bac T samples were completed, the PSC audit was completed, they worked on well 4 carbon filters, they flushed hydrants, they fixed the clogged blower, they fixed the snow blower, they set headstones in the cemetery, they started working on the park and started filling pot holes. The board also heard the Waste Water Report. They renewed the operators license, they added 660 gallons of Ferric in pond 3 to drop phosphorus from 2.mg/L to .66 mg/L and they started discharging in April. The DNR report was completed, the leaking pipe in well 5 was fixed, the ball diamond was seeded and they put a new tire on the mower.
They also heard the Clerkâs Report. The April 7th and May 12th Elections were quite a challenge. They had 2 election workers that did not want to work but we were able to fill in. Granton issued 63 absentee ballots for the May 12 election. 41 of the absentees were in person. The Quarterly 941 was completed. They completed the audit and the fire dues certification was completed. Finally, the board heard the Treasurer's Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The Checking balance is $138,830.10, the Money Market balance is $528,195.18, the Cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $32,164.78, and the Library balance is $22,619.88.
